Obsessed With Orange

At the moment I may have become a little (or shall I say very) obsessed with the colour orange. It is such a summery colour and brings any look to life, may that be a makeup look or an outfit.

When it comes to clothing, I absolutely adore fluorescent orange as it helps to brighten up my skin tone as well as adding an amazing pop of colour to an outfit. I love to experiment with lots of different orange tones when it comes to makeup, especially lip products as I think orange lip products are perfect for wearing during the summer.

I have three peach/orange products, the first one being my Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya. This product provides a sheer peachy colour to the lips which is perfect for a natural everyday makeup look during summer. The Bourjois Blush in Rose Mandarine is a beautiful orange colour with a pink undertone which is great for adding a fresh pop of colour to the cheeks. It also matches the lip butter pretty well too! I love the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint in Papaya. It is such a beautiful peach colour with an amazing glossy finish. I think this product would look great on holiday when you have a glowing tan.

I have one coral/orange product, which is the Sleek True Colour Lipstick in Papaya Punch. I love this lipstick so much because of its amazing pigmentation and its ability to brighten up any skin tone. The colour of this lipstick is so beautiful and it provides an amazing matte finish.

I have two true orange products, the first one being my Nails Inc. Nail Polish in Atomic (by Fabulous Magazine). This is a gorgeous true orange nail polish which I absolutely love wearing on my nails. It would be great at brightening up a simple outfit, for example a black dress. The second true orange product I own is the Bourjois Color Boost Glossy Finish Lipstick in Orange Punch. This product provides a gorgeous glossy and hydrating finish to the lips and the gorgeous colour brightens up your entire makeup look.

Do you like wearing orange? Do you own any of the orange products I have written about?

Topshop Studded Bag

Hello everyone! Today's post is going to be about a new bag I received for my birthday from Topshop, which I absolutely love!

I take a bag almost everywhere I go so when it comes to buying or choosing a new one to be given to me as a present, it is very exciting. I had seen this one in Topshop quite a few times and really loved the look of it, so I was very happy when it was given to me on my birthday. I love how this bag is so versatile because of its colour; a black bag can be paired with pretty much any outfit which means I can get a lot of wear out of it. I think the contrast between the black and gold is so beautiful, these colours are just such a classic match and have the ability to dress up a simple outfit. Studs are very much in fashion at the moment, and I feel they add a very pretty and modern touch to this bag.

The bag has two smaller straps if you wish to carry it on your arm, or you can use the longer strap, which is removable, if you want to carry the bag on your shoulder. This bag also has plenty of room inside, including a zip pocket and a phone pocket, so it is perfect for carrying everything you need.

What do you think of my new bag? What is your favourite bag?

Urban Decay Naked Palette

It's nearly the end of August which means during this month I celebrated my 16th birthday. I've wanted this product for so long now and was so happy when I opened it on my birthday; it's the Urban Decay Naked Palette! The Naked Palette contains 12 beautiful shades consisting of shimmer, matte and glitter eyeshadows. There are also a great range of colours; from neutral creams and beiges to smokey and shimmery browns. Each shade also has its own unique name, which I think is really nice.

I love this palette because it is incredibly versatile, so it can be used to create a variety of different looks. It can be used to create a very neutral 'no makeup' look with some of the lightest and most neutral colours, for example Virgin, Sin and Naked. As well as that you can create a gorgeous summery look using the shimmery gold and bronzes, for example Half Baked and Smog. If you want to create a smokey eye look for the evening time you can use the deeper and darker colours in the palette, for example Hustle, Creep and Gunmetal.

The quality of the eyeshadows are absolutely amazing, they are so soft and ridiculously pigmented, and to top it all off the staying power is brilliant. The Naked Palette also came with a smaller version of Urban Decay's Eyeshadow Primer Potion which helps to create a smooth base so the eyeshadow lasts even longer.

In my opinion, there is literally nothing bad to say about this product. If you are looking to invest in some high end eyeshadows of amazing quality, I would strongly recommend the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I expect that the Naked 2 Palette is equally as amazing, even though I haven't tried it, but that's what I am guessing from the quality of the original Naked Palette!

What is your opinion of the Naked Palette? What are your favourite shades?

17 Wild Metallics Eyes Cream Eyeshadows

Today I'm going to be telling you about the 17 Wild Metallics Eyes cream eyeshadows. I have two, in shades Wild Nude and Wild Bronze. I like the leopard print detailing on the lid of the products as I think it matches with the name of the product well. I also think quite a good amount of product has been provided especially for the affordable price of £3.99!

Wild Nude, shown on the left, is a cool toned light brown colour that is great for creating a very natural everyday eye look. Wild Bronze, shown on the right, is a warm toned bronze colour that can be used for creating an everyday eye look with a bit more definition as the colour is slightly more bold than Wild Nude. Both of these products provide a gorgeous metallic effect which I absolutely love and are amazingly pigmented. The texture of these products are very smooth and creamy and glide onto the eyelids very easily. I personally prefer to use my finger to apply them to my eyelids because it provides better pigmentation and I find it much easier to blend the product this way.

You can use these cream eyeshadows as a base before using powder eyeshadow or you can simply wear them on their own. If you do choose to wear them on their own, as they are a cream formula, they will crease after wearing them for a while however if you use a primer you will probably be able to get a bit more wear out of them before they start to crease. I tend to wear these cream eyeshadows with a light dusting of powder eyeshadow over the top to intensify the colour of the product but still being able to see the metallic effect the product provides showing through. Applying powder eyeshadow on top will also help your eye makeup to stay on much longer whilst providing an amazingly pigmented base! I have provided swatches in the picture above to show you what the products look like on the skin, with Wild Nude on the left and Wild Bronze on the right.

Fishtail Plaits

Hello everyone! (I had to post this again as I had a few technical difficulties) Today I am going to talk about and try to explain how to create a hairstyle I am currently loving, which is the fishtail plait! Fishtail plaits are so nice for summer as they keep your hair out of the way but they look really creative and unique at the same time. I usually plait mine to the side as it is much easier to create a plait this way. They look quite hard to create at first, but once you know how to do it, it really is quite easy! It took me a while to get the hang of it, and mine still aren't exceptionally neat, but I can create them fairly easily and I also quite like the messier, softer look to my fishtail plait. They can be quite time consuming, as you have to use smaller sections of hair whilst plaiting, however I love the end result! I much prefer a fishtail plait to a regular plait.

How to create a fishtail plait:
  1. Move all of your hair over to one side and split it into two even sections (I am going to call these sections the 1st section and the 2nd section so it is a little easier to explain)
  2. Take a thin piece of hair from the back of the 1st section and pass it over to the 2nd section. (This thin piece of hair will now cross over all of the 1st section and will join the 2nd section)
  3. Now take a thin piece of hair from the back of the 2nd section and pass it over to the 1st section. (This thin piece of hair will cross over all of the 2nd section and will join the 1st section, almost forming a cross where both thin pieces of hair have crossed over one another)
  4. Continue steps 2 and 3 until you have plaited all of your hair.
  5. Secure it with a clear hairband.
  6. If you want a thicker plait, gently pull the plait from either side to create a plait that appears thicker and wider.
Your end result should look similar to mine which I created on my own hair in the picture above the instructions. But of course, everyones will look slightly different!

I really hope that the instructions on how to create a fishtail plait aren't too hard to follow, it is quite hard to explain how to create a fishtail plait but I've tried to explain it the best as I possibly can. Also, if you are stuck on trying to create your fishtail plait from my instructions, please leave a comment and I'll try to help you!

What's your opinion on fishtail plaits?

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paints

Hello everyone! I finished all of my exams today which I'm so happy about, and I now have a three month summer break - so plenty of time for blog posts! I thought I would do a review of the Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paint. I own two of the shades, Greenberry and Blueberry (in the picture below, Greenberry is on the left and Blueberry is on the right, which you have most probably already guessed, haha!)

These nail polishes are absolutely amazing. The colour you see in the picture is the colour that comes out on my nails, which is great because some nail polishes look gorgeous in the bottle and on your nails show a completely different colour or effect. The colour is so bright and vibrant and looks amazing on the nails, which is perfect for the summer months.

With these polishes, you only need around two coats to achieve a great opaque texture on the nails. When applying, you will notice that the polish is quite thick, but once it has dried, the polish sets and gives you an amazing glossy finish. It actually looks very similar to shellac nail polishes because of the incredible high shine finish. So, the name of this product really matches up to the quality of the product!

I am currently wearing Greenberry on my nails, I've had it on for around 3-4 days now and I only have one very, very tiny chip, but apart from that it still looks like I've only had the product on my nails for one day, which is amazing! Greenberry is a gorgeous, vibrant turquoise/mint colour which I really like because turquoise and mint green are my favourite colours. Blueberry is different to a lot of other nail polishes I own, which is why I love it so much. It is a light blue with a hint of lilac. As these nail polishes are so thick and glossy, they do take a while to dry, and I can be impatient with this, however the finish I am left with is worth the wait!

I have to say, these are some of the best nail polishes I've tried because of the gorgeous summery colours, and I like the names of them too. All of these nail polishes have fruity names which makes them even more summery, haha! I would really recommend these nail polishes as they are very reasonable in price and the high quality glossy finish looks so nice on the nails.

NIVEA Soft Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream

Hello everyone! Today I thought I'd write a quick post about this new NIVEA Soft Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream that I've been using. I've mainly been using this as a hand cream because I usually have quite dry hands during winter, so I'm constantly feeling the need to apply moisturiser! I have to say after only using it for a few days, I really like it.

The scent is so lovely, I'm really not a huge fan of moisturising creams that have an overpowering smell, but luckily this product is the complete opposite. It doesn't have a strong fragrance at all, it has a gorgeous natural smell which leaves my skin feeling fresh. The product is quite thick, so you only need to apply a little amount to have wonderfully soft hands! As it says on the product, it is 'quickly absorbed', which the product itself proves to be correct. All of the product soaks in within around 2 minutes for me, which is great because I don't like creams that linger on the skin and take about an hour to soak in as it's not practical!

It's a perfect size for my school bag too, so I can use this during the day at school if my hands need that extra bit of moisture in the autumn and winter months! I don't really have anything bad to say about this product, because it does its job nicely and really prevents my hands from becoming really dry.

Have you tried out this product? Would you recommend any other NIVEA products? Leave me a comment below if you wish, I'd love to find out your opinions.

Rimmel London Natural Bronzer in Sunlight

I've been using the Rimmel London Natural Bronzer in Sunlight for a while now and I love it so much! It is very matte with no glitter or shimmer which I love because it is lovely for creating a natural looking glow all year round as well as being great for contouring.

The product is a really gorgeous natural bronze shade and is very affordable as it is a drugstore product! There is so much product provided; I've been using it for ages and as you can see I have only just hit pan! You only need to use a little amount for a subtle glow. The only downside to this product is the lid, for some reason (I don't know whether it's just me, haha) but the lid never seems very securely shut, so in a makeup bag I'm worried the lid will come off and the product getting ruined!

I usually tend to apply the bronzer on my cheekbones for a natural look, and sometimes if I don't want to wear too much makeup I sweep the product across my face with a powder brush for a natural finish that keeps me looking healthy and a little tanned! I would recommend this bronzer if you are looking for a very natural matte colour that gives you a gorgeous finish. However, if you're looking for something for with a bit more glitter and shimmer, then this one isn't for you.

Soap & Glory Peaches And Clean 4-In-1 Wash-Off Deep Cleansing Milk

Firstly, the packaging of this product is absolutely gorgeous. I love how much effort goes into the Soap & Glory packaging, it is so unique and girly and makes all their products looks so much more eye-catching. The pump applicator also makes it so much easier to get the product out of the bottle. I use this product mostly in the evening before I go to bed to remove my face makeup, so my foundation, bronzer, blusher, etc. I apply around 2 pumps of this all over my face, especially on areas which I am most likely to break out, to make sure my face is completely clean and fresh. I then rinse my face with warm water and pat it dry with a towel.

The product claims it 'melts away makeup', which for me it does because I don't tend to wear particularly full coverage face makeup, so the product does its job in one application. However, the product says you can repeat the process if you need to, so if you're wearing a lot of face makeup then I would highly recommend this.

This product contains so many lovely ingredients, including peach extract which shines through in the smell of the product, which is so delicious and refreshing. In my opinion it smells like fruity peach yoghurt, which I personally adore. The smell is not too strong which is good because I don't really like strongly scented products, but it does leave a light peach fragrance after application which is really refreshing. The product is really easy to blend onto the skin, and it also feels very moisturising which makes my skin feel super soft and fresh after rinsing it off.

I have seen a few noticeable changes in some areas of my skin where I tend to break out a little more, which is great! So, I think it is safe to say that this is a product that I will very much enjoy continuing to use and will certainly be a product I will purchase again.

Do you own this product? What are your opinions of it?
