My Current Favourite Contour & Highlight Products

Now there is no denying that there are a heck of a lot of people on the contour and highlight bandwagon, including myself. I don't go all Kim Kardashian with my contour and highlight, however I do like to use a selection of products to put some shape and dimension back into my face after applying foundation, creating a subtle glowy look. I often like to switch up the products I use for this part of my makeup routine, so here's the lowdown on my current favourite contour and highlight products.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer // Let me tell you about my new staple product for contouring. It's the perfect shade of brown, not too orange toned and not too muddy brown, plus its matte formula means its great for creating sculpted and defined looking cheekbones. This bronzer blends so perfectly and even though it is pigmented, it is buildable, so you can create a subtle contour which is what I tend to go for, or if you prefer to create a stronger look you can do so. To apply this product, I use my Real Techniques Contour Brush, which is my favourite brush to use for contouring because the tapered bristles fit perfectly into the hollows of my cheekbones. I also go ahead and apply this product to my temples and my jawline to give my face some more structure. (Also, sorry that the brush doesn't look very clean in the photo, I'd just used it and it is very well loved, haha!)

Revlon Highlighting Palette in Rose Glow // I've loved this product for quite some time now and it is probably a product I will continue to repurchase. It's the perfect product for giving a fresh shimmery glow to the cheeks with a touch of pink. I tend to swirl my brush around the whole palette to create a look that combines both the pink shades and the pearly shimmery shades, which is definitely what I would recommend you do as all of the shades compliment each other beautifully. If I'm not in the mood for a sun-kissed bronze highlight look, this is the product I use instead and it never fails to look good. I've done a more in depth review of this product which you can read here.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle // This product and I have a bit of a love affair going on to say the least. I lusted over it for ages, then I very luckily received it as a Christmas present and I was so excited to start using it. I've used this product pretty much every day since Christmas and it has quickly become one of my favourite highlight products hands down. It's so beautifully pigmented and I cannot begin to describe how gorgeous it looks on the tops of the cheekbones, ahhh so pretty. I just know the peachy golden beautifulness of this product will be perfect for wearing later in the year throughout the summer months too, so this one will probably stay in my highlight faves for quite some time.

Benefit High Beam // If I'm wanting a dewy pearl pink glow to the cheekbones, Benefit's High Beam has got my back. This product really works at making my cheekbones pop, and who doesn't want that, right? I tend to apply this product by dotting a little bit (less is definitely more) onto the tops of my cheekbones, then go ahead and blend it in with my ring finger. Whilst it is great on its own as a liquid highlight product, it can be used as a base before applying a powder highlight product on top. For instance, I use it as a base for the Revlon Highlighting Palette. Both of these products are of a pearly pink tone, so I'd definitely recommend wearing them together - you won't be disappointed.

So, that's it! What are your current favourite contour and highlight products?

ASOS & Topshop Wishlist

I often find myself browsing for clothes online and I always seem to have my eye on something that I want to purchase in the near future. There are a lot of pieces here and I definitely cannot afford them all (I think my purse would hate me!) but these are just things that I've spotted and would love to have in my wardrobe. As you can see, there's a strong theme of black, white and nude going on here, which may seem boring, but these are the colours I love to wear and that I feel are the most versatile. At the end of the day, if I buy a piece I want to be able to wear it with lots of other pieces I already own to get my money's worth.

Lately I've been searching for a pair of nice trousers, and believe me being very small at 5ft means this is a very hard and frustrating task - there is a 99% chance they will always be too long and make me look like I'm drowning in fabric. But these ones on the ASOS website are actually in the petite range, and aren't they cute? I'm also all about simple tees at the moment. I am particularly fond of the nude and white striped one as it's so different to anything I own. The cute studded nude flats would go perfectly with this piece too! Of course I am always looking to add to the 'night out wear' section of my wardrobe, so there's a black lace body and a black mesh top which would be perfect for a more party/formal occasion. At the moment I've also really been into comfy underwear. I can't get enough of the Calvin Klein bralette I received for Christmas, so I definitely want to add to my collection, preferably with the simple black set shown above (ahhh it's so pretty). Then finally, I have fallen in love with the most beautiful black and white colour block jumper, and not to forget that amazing bomber jacket - both from Topshop.

If you like the look of any of the pieces on my wishlist, feel free to take a look at them below - happy shopping!

Hair Products I Couldn't Live Without

I'm not a huge fan of my natural hair. When I wash it, it just dries into a half wavy, half curly frizzy mess. Obviously, some days are better than others and it might dry the way I want it, but chances are I need the helping hands of these products to get my hair looking just right. So without further ado, here are the hair products that I just couldn't live without.

Batiste Dry Shampoo // Literally, I don't know how I could possibly keep my hair looking good without this product - it's my ultimate second day hair winner. It helps keep greasiness at bay, plus gives my hair that extra bit of oomph. I'm constantly switching up and trying out the different scents, however the tropical one is probably my favourite and the one I reach for most often.

John Frieda Frizz Ease 3 Day Straight Spray // This stuff is ah-may-zing. As my hair has a natural wave to it, when I straighten my hair it doesn't take long for the wave to creep back in. However, if I use this on damp hair before drying and straightening, my hair looks so much more sleek and stays perfectly straight for so much longer. I love using it for nights out when I want my hair looking good all night, so if you're like me and you just can't get your hair perfectly straight then I couldn't recommend this enough.

TRESemm√© Heat Defence Styling Spray // It's always important to protect your hair before applying heat to it. I love TRESemm√© shampoos and conditioners, they leave my hair feeling so silky soft, and this heat defence spray is another great product within the TRESemm√© range. I've really noticed a difference in the texture and appearance of my hair since using it. It feels so much softer to touch and doesn't look as frizzy, which is always a huge bonus.

Mark Hill Defrizz-ilicious Bedazzled Anti-Humidity Shine Spray // As I mentioned my hair does tend to get pretty frizzy. Once I've dried my hair, I give this a good spray, focusing on the top/middle areas of my hair where I tend to get the most frizz. It really helps to tame the frizz down and what's more it smells really great too.

Tangle Teezer // Ah, my beloved Tangle Teezer. I've never owned a hair brush like this before and I absolutely love it. It's so gentle on the hair and really gets out all of those nasty knots without causing too much damage or pain. Plus, it's so travel friendly because of the size and the colour of it is just so cute. It's definitely a worthy investment if you haven't already got your hands on one of these.

Do you have any hair products that you couldn't live without? Let me know!

Seventeen Brow's That! Brow Kit

Hi everyone! For the past few weeks I've been juggling four uni assignments due before the end of January (two to go now, woop), but I couldn't resist putting up a blog post for you all as everyone needs a little break, right? But anyway, today I'm going to tell you about a new product that I received as a Christmas present, and have been in love with ever since. It's the Seventeen Brow's That! Brow Kit. I have only recently in the past year started filling in my brows and now I can't ever imagine my makeup routine without filling them in, so when I got my hands on this product I could not wait to give it a try.

You'll probably notice that you actually get quite a lot with this kit. It comes with a brow pencil, soft brow wax, setting powder and a brow bone highlight powder - plus a cute little brush to apply it all with. The set also comes with a handy list of instructions, telling you which order to apply the products and how to apply them to get your brows looking their best, which I personally think is so helpful and allows you to use the product to its full potential. Plus, it's even the perfect size for travelling as it's so compact, and that's always a huge bonus.

After grooming my brows with my Revlon Smokey Eye Brush (not necessarily a brow brush but it works great nonetheless), I go in with filling in the sparse areas of my brows and outlining the overall brow shape I want to achieve with the brow pencil. The shade of the pencil is a very close match to the natural shade of my brows, so it works perfectly to naturally give them some definition, and even better it glides on really well and isn't too soft, so the product doesn't slide about once it's on your brows. Then, I use the brush that comes with the kit to apply the soft wax through my brows. For me, this works so well as it doesn't feel too sticky and really helps keep those fly away hairs that just won't stay put in place all day. I then use the setting powder which helps to make the texture of the wax appear more matte, as well as really making sure my brows do not budge.

Overall, these three products together work and last amazingly well and even when I go to take off my makeup at the end of the day, my brows are still looking immaculate. The only slight downside to this product is the highlight, it is a very nice shade however for me it isn't quite pigmented enough, however I have still been using it as a base for a brow highlight, which I apply with my Real Techniques detailer brushI have included a photo of my brows after using the kit to give you an idea of the overall finish. I know my brows aren't perfect but they do say brows aren't twins, they're sisters! Haha.

This has definitely become my new favourite brow product by far and is definitely a product I would without a doubt purchase again. £5.99 for this amazing little kit - you really can't go wrong!

Have you tried the Seventeen Brow's That! Brow Kit? What are your opinions on it? Let me know!

A Christmas Trip to London

Well I suppose I should start off this post by saying a big happy new year! 2016 is finally upon us. I also hope you all had a lovely Christmas and aren't feeling too delicate today after any NYE antics - yikes. This Christmas was probably the best I've ever had. My boyfriend and I were lucky enough to spend a few days in London which was absolutely lovely. We travelled up on Boxing Day and stayed for two nights between Covent Garden and Trafalgar Square, so we really couldn't have had a better location, as everything was either a short bus journey or walk away from all the main attractions and sights. Since London is so beautiful at Christmas, I thought I'd share a few snaps I took whilst we were visiting - only on my iPhone 6 camera though, I do apologise, but I still think the pictures are pretty darn lovely if you ask me.

1. Shopping on Oxford Street // Walking through Oxford Street on Boxing Day was quite possibly the most hectic thing I've ever experienced - it was flooded with people. However, it was also so nice to look round all of the shops and see all the beautiful Christmas lights. The lights in the photo I took were too pretty to refuse a quick snap.

2. Best burgers ever // Honestly one of the most amazing burgers I've ever tasted was at Byron Burger. We went for dinner here on our first night and it was such a nice (but naughty) treat. Plus, we ordered a Oreo milkshake for dessert to share, and it was lucky we did share as there was about a pint of it in the biggest glass we'd ever seen. It's safe to say we were stuffed afterwards.

3. My fave purchase // I've been on the hunt for a watch for quite some time, it's just one of those things I never really got round to buying. However being in London I thought what the heck I'll treat myself, and I came across the most beautiful rose gold and grey watch from Olivia Burton. It's the perfect size and the colours are so elegant and pretty - I can't keep my eyes off my wrist when I wear it!

4. Trafalgar Square // Since our hotel was right by Trafalgar Square, we walked through it many times throughout our trip. I couldn't resist taking a photo of the pretty Christmas tree when it was all sparkly and lit up at night.

5. Before we went on the London Eye // It felt pretty surreal looking at the London Eye before we went on it thinking we were going to be travelling up so high in the sky! I'm not really too worried about heights (apart from when heights concerns scary things like rollercoasters which I hate) so I was very excited.

6. London Eye selfie // Pretty good location for a selfie, right? We even managed to get Big Ben in the photo too! The London Eye overall was amazing. The views were absolutely beautiful and it was definitely worth every penny.

7. Christmas tree at Covent Garden // Covent Garden was only a short walk away from our hotel, so we took a stroll round on our last day before we left to go home. We spent ages in a stationary shop called kikki. K which had the prettiest stationary I had EVER seen, plus I dragged Aaron into Brandy Melville and Urban Outfitters for a look around too. As you can see we also came across this huge but beautiful Christmas tree.

I hope you enjoyed looking at all my Christmassy snaps. Have you visited London during the festive season? Did you treat yourself to anything this Christmas
