The Sheer Nude Lipstick for Everyday Wear

As you know I am a huge lipstick fanatic, especially when it comes to nude lipsticks. I do love wearing a dark statement nude shade, such as Velvet Teddy from MAC, which is hands down one of my favourite shades. But for when I'm only going to uni or when I'm not feeling like wearing a bold nude shade, I love to wear a sheer nude shade that still looks pretty but is much more natural. The Seventeen Supreme Shine Lipstick in Bella is perfect for those kind of days, so I thought why not tell you all about it?

This lipstick is a gorgeous, natural light beige shade with a slight pink undertone. It's definitely one of the lightest nude shades I own but the warm pink undertone means that it doesn't wash me out at all. Plus, the formula is sheer so my natural lip colour does show through slightly. It's definitely the perfect 'your lips but better' shade. As the name suggests, this lipstick does give my lips 'supreme shine', which I do particularly like, and what's more the lipstick feels so comfortably smooth on my lips, which I guess is down to the shiny formula.

Despite the lipstick being quite sheer, the colour payoff still remains pretty darn good. I love how natural this shade looks on my lips as it just makes it perfect for everyday wear. It's one of those shades I can swipe on and know that it will always look good. As it has quite a sheer and shiny formula, the shade doesn't last for a particularly long time on the lips, however it does fade really nicely on the lips and doesn't leave any unevenness, so I don't have to worry about my lips looking a state or retouching it straight away.

This lipstick is also a great one for applying over a lipliner to add an extra pop of colour and to put some hydration and shine back into the lips. I love wearing this lipstick over the top of my No7 Precision Lips lipliner in Nude; both of these two products work together perfectly and create such a beautiful natural nude shade.

The packaging isn't the most luxurious, but it is only a high street lipstick at the end of the day, and I by no means dislike it. I actually think it's cleverly designed by Seventeen, as the packaging is extremely shiny and almost like a mirror, which helps to reflect the name and formula of the lipstick. Pretty cool, eh?

So for a high street lipstick priced at only £4.99, I think it's a pretty good deal. I get so much wear out of this shade as it's just so perfect for everyday wear, plus it's versatile too as I can pop it over a lipliner if I want to.

Have you tried this lipstick from Seventeen? Or have you tried any of their other lipsticks? What's your favourite everyday nude lipstick?

OOTD #2: The Cosy Teddy Bear Coat

I'm back with another outfit of the day post! It's certainly been a while, hasn't it? I always find it so difficult to take outfit photos, as I haven't got a photographer on hand to take photos of me outside in the lovely sunshine against an Instagram-friendly background. So I have to rely on the self-timer setting on my camera and find the tidiest and most presentable corner of my bedroom to use as a background, unfortunately. Ah well, the photos aren't too shabby after all.

Today, I had uni for a couple hours and not much else, so I wanted to be relatively casual but still warm, as the weather in the UK is still pretty chilly! So of course I'm wearing my trusty cream teddy bear coat, which I bought from Topshop around a year and a half ago and have worn to death throughout winter ever since. It keeps me so warm in the cold weather as it's just so snuggly. I always get comments on it about how cosy it looks; my boyfriend Aaron says it makes me look like a fluffy polar bear, haha.

To go with my coat, I'm wearing a simple relaxed fit cream jumper from ASOS. Nothing particularly exciting, but I love it nonetheless. It's so comfy and goes with loads of other items in my wardrobe, which is great as I get a lot of wear out of it.

Black jeans are a staple in everyones wardrobe, so I threw on my Topshop Joni jeans with this outfit. I was obsessed with the Topshop Leigh jeans, however since recently trying the Joni fit I think I may have converted. They are definitely much comfier than the Leigh jeans as they have more stretch to them. Plus, they're high-waisted so you can wear cropped jumpers and tops with them. What more could you want?

On my feet I've got my trusty ASOS boots. Again, very comfy. There seems to be a bit of a comfy theme going on here. Simple black chelsea boots are perfect for wearing with jeans or a skirt and tights, so these are an essential in my wardrobe.

On my wrist I've got my absolutely gorgeous Olivia Burton watch. I bought this on my trip to London with Aaron at Christmas time, which you can read about here. I love the style, I love the colours. Not much more to say about it really. I just adore it so much.

What are your thoughts on this outfit? Do you own any of the pieces or anything similar?

Removing Makeup Made Easy: Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

Tired of sore and red skin after struggling to remove your makeup? Well with the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, those problems fade right away. Everyone seems to be familiar with this little gem from Garnier, so when I heard all the good things being said about it, I had to try it out for myself.

I've been using this product for a good few months now and let me tell you removing my makeup has never felt so good. I apply just enough to a small cotton pad so that the majority of the surface area of the pad is wet, which ensures my makeup is removed much more efficiently. This product really does get right in there and remove every last scrap of makeup. You really do realise how much makeup goes onto your face once you use this product. Once I'm finished removing my makeup with this I'm left with a bunch of orange, brown and black cotton pads. Nice, eh? I suppose I know this product is definitely doing its job.

Another thing I love about this product is that it is so gentle on the skin. Makeup melts away in a simple swipe, so you don't have to scrub hard and leave your skin feeling irritated. This product also feels incredibly soothing on the skin, and almost has a cooling effect, which I love as theres nothing better than the feeling of refreshed squeaky clean skin. It also doesn't make my skin sting, even around the eye area, which makes this product very versatile as it provides all over the face use, and also makes it perfect for sensitive skin. There's nothing worse than a cleanser that isn't eye-friendly - let's just say it stings like a...you know what.

This product is also a steal too at £4.99 for 400ml - Garnier say this gives you 200 uses, which I'm not sure is necessarily true as it would depend how much makeup you wear, but you certainly get a lot of product for your money. There's also a smaller size which is 125ml for £1.99, which is a perfect size for when you're travelling.

Have you tried the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water? What are your thoughts on it?

Nails Of The Day #1: Nude & Champagne Glitter

I've written reviews of nail polishes that I love on my blog, but I haven't actually shown you how they look on my nails and the different looks I like to create with my nail polishes. So, I thought it would be a great idea to start a little 'Nails Of The Day' series. Whenever I've tried to take a photo of my nails I've never been that satisfied with the outcome, which is why I've avoided posts like this one in the past. But now, I've kind of gone past the point of caring as at the end of the day I'm not a hand model, I'm just a beauty blogger who wants to share what's going on on her nails. So, you'll have to put up with my very small, pale and slightly dry hands - sorry.

On my nails today is Barry M's Hi-Shine Gelly Nail Paint in Lychee, which is the beige toned nude shade that I've used for my base. I love these nail polishes from Barry M; they're definitely the best polishes in their line in my opinion. The formula is glossy and opaque and gives the effect of a gel manicure - for a fraction of the price! I'm all about nude nail polishes, so this one is always a winner for me when I'm looking for something simple and understated, but still classy nonetheless.

Now, I do like to wear a nude polish on its own, however when I painted my nails today I was really feeling like wearing some glitter to add some sparkle and make my nails pop. To do that, I applied Rimmel's Space Dust Nail Polish in Aurora, which is a gorgeous glittery champagne shade. It's a fairly opaque shade with a textured finish as opposed to a clear polish with big chunky glitter running through it, so you can wear this shade on its own as well, which is great. I decided to apply this polish on the tips of my nails just under half way down my nail, adding just the right amount of sparkle so the nude base is still visible.

This nail look is a bit different for me and it's definitely something I'll be trying out again - especially with these two shades as I think they go together beautifully.

What's on your nails today? Have you tried the nail polishes from this look?

What It's Like To Be In A Long Distance Relationship

Being in a long distance relationship is one of those things I didn't think I'd ever experience. When Aaron and I first started talking, I discovered that we'd actually chosen the same university as our first choice - what a coincidence! We finished our A Level exams around about the same time of becoming an official couple, so all that was left to do was enjoy summer and anxiously wait for the results - and hope that we'd both done enough. Two months later, results day arrived, which also happened to be my 18th birthday. What are the bloody chances eh? And yes, you know what's coming next. I got in, but Aaron didn't. It hit me like a ton of bricks that he was going to move away from me, as his second choice uni isn't close to home. I felt so scared as I thought that this might mean things would have to change between us. But, he told me straight away that he loved me too much to not make it work, and I was 110% willing to make it work too. We're just over half the way through our first year of university now, and we're stronger than ever. I thought I'd share with you my experience so far of being in a long distance relationship, as I love reading posts like this and some of you may be able to relate to this sort of thing.

Saying goodbye all the time is something that's very hard to get used to // Of course saying hello is always much easier than saying goodbye, but this especially applies when in a long distance relationship. Aaron and I try to see each other around every two weeks or so, which means every two weeks we have to say goodbye. The goodbye is always hard. Watching him walk away knowing I won't see him for a little while really is a kick in the stomach. It hurts. I never want that last hug to end, but it has to.

Crying becomes a bit more of a regular thing // I'm quite a sensitive person so being in a long distance relationship does get the water works flowing a bit more often than usual. When Aaron leaves me after a lovely few days together, I will have a good long cry. There's no point in holding it in, right? It sounds so miserable and horrible, but it is the truth. Some days I will feel down and quite lonely and all I want to do is give him a huge cuddle, but of course I can't, which can be so frustrating and upsetting.

You will appreciate your time together so much more // Not seeing Aaron on a daily basis makes me, and him, appreciate our time together a heck of a lot more. We love to do special things together when we see each other, which might be going on a long walk, going to the cinema or even heading out for a lovely evening meal. Even the little things feel so much more special, like watching a film with popcorn whilst having a good snuggle. I really do realise how lucky I am when Aaron comes home or I go to visit him; the feeling of being reunited is simply indescribable.

You miss absolutely everything about them // Not being able to simply hold Aaron's hand, touch his face or give him a kiss is so hard at times. I even miss the smell of his aftershave - when I first see him after a while there's nothing better than nuzzling into his chest and breathing in the smell of it. It sounds so strange haha but if you can relate you'll understand what I mean.

Skype becomes your best friend // Aaron and I message all day every day, but there's just something that extra bit more special about seeing his face and hearing his voice. That's why Skype comes in handy. We don't Skype hugely often, but keeping the video calls limited helps them to feel even more special. If we plan to Skype in the evening, I will look forward to it all day and it will instantly make my day feel brighter. I love our Skype video calls, we always have such a laugh and it's the perfect opportunity to have a good catch up.

You travel a lot more than you used to // I'm not a very confident driver, so the coach is the next best option to go and visit Aaron. Now, the coach is a long four and a half hours, but let me tell you it's so bloody well worth it. I have a coachcard so I can get the coach for a much cheaper price, which is so great and helps me to save a lot more money. I do get quite bad travel anxiety, but I always try to be brave and try to remember the reason I am travelling in the first place. I often listen to audio books to help pass the time and distract myself from getting nervous whilst being on the coach. And let me tell you once I'm there, all of the nerves fade away and I feel happier than ever.

It's all about trust // There's no doubt that I trust Aaron completely. There isn't a reason not to. It's probably one of the best things about our relationship; we have absolutely amazing trust and it's so special to have that between us. Now don't get me wrong being apart from Aaron is so hard, but when he goes out with his uni friends, I feel happy, positive and most importantly I feel like I can trust him. I know Aaron loves me more than anything, and visa versa, so there's no reason not to trust each other when we're far apart.

So, there you go. Long distance relationships are hard at times, but they can work if you and your loved one both put your minds and hearts to it. Don't let anyone tell you that they never work, it's a load of crap. The work has to come from you, and if you're prepared to put it in, then there's no reason why it won't work out.

Are you in a long distance relationship? Have you been in one previously, or are you going to be in one soon? Do you have any tips or experiences to share? Let me know below! I'd absolutely love to hear your thoughts on this and whether you found this interesting or not.

First Impression of Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Baci

After reading a lot of positive first impressions posts and reviews on the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks, I thought it was about time I tried them out for myself. Yes, I am a self-confessed lipstick junkie, I just couldn't resist, okay. For now, I've got just the one shade, Baci, a pinky mauve shade with a somewhat grey undertone. This is actually one of the newest additions to Stila's liquid lipstick line and definitely one of the most talked about shades at the moment, simply because it seems to be so different to any other shade of lipstick out there. Since this product is very new to me, I'm going to give you the low down on my first impression of it and the overall experience I had when first trying it out.

First of all, I absolutely love the packaging. It's relatively simple, but the gold adds such a nice touch and makes it feel a lot more luxurious. Upon opening the product, I liked the fact that the doe foot applicator seemed to be tapered and flexible, which I hoped would make application a lot easier. And without further ado, I went ahead and applied the product to my lips. The flexibility of the doe foot applicator did in fact make application a lot simpler and quicker, however a steady hand was needed to make sure it was applied precisely. The formula of this liquid lipstick went on like a lipgloss and felt very wet, however within around a minute the product dried down to a completely matte finish, which is of course what I expected. I did notice that the product did ever so slightly make the fine lines in my lips more apparent, however I reckon this was partially my fault as I got a bit carried away and applied a few layers of the stuff due to sheer excitement - oops.

When applying the lipstick, I noticed that the shade appeared slightly darker on my lips compared to in the tube. The mauve undertone showed up a lot more on my lips compared to in the tube, which you can probably tell as it looks a lot more pink in the tube in the photo above. Personally, I find the look of the shade in the tube a tad misleading, but I still absolutely love the look of the shade on my lips nonetheless. The dried down mauve shade is so unlike anything else I own; I think it's so beautiful and really makes my lips pop. In terms of longevity of wear, I wouldn't go as far as saying this liquid lipstick stays all day as the name suggests, however the staying power is pretty impressive and does not budge for a good few hours once it has dried. It doesn't smear and it's definitely kiss proof! Perfect for Valentines day which is coming up - just a hint.

Overall, I'm so glad I tried this liquid lipstick as the shade and formula is so unique to my lipstick collection. Have you tried any of the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks? Or are you desperate to try them if you haven't already?

MAC False Lashes Extreme Black Mascara

You may or may not know I have a lot of love for MAC makeup products. I only have a small collection of their products, mainly made up of their lipsticks and lip liners, but their mascaras were something I just hadn't ever tried. It's pretty obvious that I have now tried one of their mascaras, otherwise I wouldn't be writing this post. The mascara I now have my hands on is the False Lashes Extreme Black mascara, and I've certainly taken quite a liking to it.

MAC describes the formula of this mascara as 'inky, lightweight and mousse-like'. It does live up to its claims as the formula is definitely very inky in terms of its colour, extreme black as the name claims, which I love as it really makes my lashes pop. There really is no other way to describe the formula of this mascara other than mousse-like, as MAC have stated. It's not overly wet, but it's certainly not dry. You're probably familiar with the overly wet and runny formulas of certain mascaras, but this one is placed nicely in the middle of the spectrum, however slightly more on the wet side. Now you're probably thinking, ah a fairly wet mascara, surely it's going to clump, right? Well you're wrong. The shape of the brush and the tightly compacted bristles ensure that the lashes are evenly coated and defined with product, so there's no clumpy mess in sight.

This mascara does a fantastic job at lengthening the lashes, which is of course what every girl wants in a mascara, surely? MAC claims that it 'creates the illusion of lash extensions', but I personally have never had lash extensions or worn fake eyelashes for that matter so I can't compare the mascara to either of them unfortunately. However I'd say it's probably not far off! With this mascara, it doesn't take much to create dramatic length and this is something I really look for when purchasing a new mascara. In my opinion, mascara is one of the things that really ties together a makeup look, so I want my mascara to make my lashes really stand out, and this one fails to disappoint. In terms of volume, this mascara gives me just the right amount of volume that works well with the lengthening properties it has too. I’ve read some existing reviews of this product and some bloggers say that it doesn’t give their lashes enough volume, however personally I have to disagree on this one - I think it does a fab job!

Whilst this gem from MAC does seem like what every girl could ever want in a mascara, there is one thing that does let it down. Now I have to put it out there that this mascara does last really well on my lashes, however this is only if my eyes stay dry all day. What I mean by that is, if you feel like you're going to have a day where you cry, or if you suffer with hay fever, or even if you're going swimming (and so on) then do not wear this mascara. It will smudge quite easily if exposed to water and leave you with panda eyes - not a good look! I guess it's what is to be expected from such an inky black formula. Also, as it is a MAC mascara, the price is a little steep at £19, but I definitely think this mascara is worth the money if you're after something a little more luxurious that will give you amazingly long and super black lashes. But of course, there are some drugstore alternatives if you're looking for a cheaper option (I think Maybelline Great Lash is a pretty good dupe - just a little hint).

Overall, panda eyes and price aside, I really do love this mascara and am so glad I have it in my collection of MAC products. I think a repurchase is almost definite!

Have you tried the MAC False Lashes Extreme Black mascara or any other MAC mascaras? What mascara are you loving right now?

Getting Motivated To Work Out

Finding the motivation to work out is something I have found quite difficult. I never quite knew how to get back into it after giving up dancing around four years ago. I don't really feel comfortable going to the gym and the price of a membership seems pretty expensive to be perfectly honest. Since giving up dancing, I have gradually become more unfit, which is disappointing as I used to get through a ninety minute dance class without much trouble. I have decided to start working out in the comfort of my own home, which is way more relaxing and carefree than going to the gym. To get motivated to work out, I've taken some steps which will hopefully help me, and you as well if you're looking into getting into working out.

I came to the decision that in order to get fit, I was going to need some guidance on exercise routines, as I wouldn't know where to start on my own. So, I had a browse on Amazon and came across Davina McCall's newest fitness DVD, 5 Week Fit. As I've only just started finding the motivation to work out, I haven't used this much yet but so far it seems pretty good. It comes with a five week plan that tells you which of her routines to do on each day of the week, so you're working on different areas of your body on different days. There are rest days that have been scheduled into the plan too, which is useful (and relieving). I'm going to try to stick to this plan, but at the beginning I know it's going to be hard as my body needs time to strengthen up. So far my muscles are aching quite a bit after working out (especially today, ouch). Once I've used this DVD a bit more I might do another post to update you on how I'm getting on with it.

Buying workout clothes also gave me motivation to get into working out. I knew if I wanted to work out, I wanted to feel good and confident in what I was wearing. Plus, wearing sportswear that I've picked out and really like helps me to get into a better mindset and routine for working out, which is a huge bonus. It's almost a feeling of excitement, as I want to work out so I can wear my new clothes, haha! I bought a black sports bra and some black, khaki and teal sports leggings from Missguided, which I absolutely love. If you're looking to buy new sportswear, I'd definitely recommend Missguided as they have some lovely pieces in their active range.

Another thing I did to get me more motivated to work out was creating a playlist on Spotify. Listening to my favourite songs really helps to get me pumped up and makes me put more effort into my workout. Personally, medium/fast-paced songs make me work harder and help me get more out of my workout, but of course it's entirely up to you what you listen to. Some of my favourites to listen to are Right Now by Rihanna, One by Swedish House Mafia and Stronger by Kanye West.

Do you do anything that helps you get motivated to work out? Let me know in the comments, I'd love to hear your tips!

A New Favourite Fragrance

If you read my blog you may know I have a few perfumes that I always stick to, simply because of how much I love them, which you can read about here. However recently I've been lusting over a perfume that's fairly new to my collection, which is Olympéa by Paco Rabanne. It's safe to say I have fallen deeply in love.

First of all you'll probably notice the absolutely amazing packaging. A touch of rose gold is always a winner for me, it always looks so elegant and pretty. The beautifulness of the packaging made the photo for this post ten times easier to take, haha! Paco Rabanne describes the perfume as designed for powerful women aka 'modern-day cleopatras', with a laurel wreath presented on the sides of the bottle which represents the 'wings of victory'. What an amazing meaning behind such a gorgeous bottle of perfume, right?

You're probably wondering whether I'm actually going to get onto discussing probably the most important thing about a perfume, which is the scent. To get straight to the point, the scent of this perfume is to die for. It has a really gorgeous feminine scent, with notes of green mandarin, salted vanilla accord, water jasmine, ginger blossom, ambergris and cashmere wood. All in all, the scent is warming but fresh, and just sweet enough. In terms of longevity, Paco Rabanne have nailed it yet again with this one. The scent lasts so well on my skin and lingers on my clothes which I personally love, as I know I am going to smell good all day. Plus, there's nothing worse than a perfume that smells amazing as soon as you spray it but then an hour later you can barely get a whiff of it as it's just faded away.

So, if you're looking for a fresh, feminine new scent that lasts all day, then Olympéa might be the one for you. If you're ever in a perfume store, give it a whiff, and maybe admire the amazing bottle for a little while too - it's too pretty not to.

Have you tried Olympéa by Paco Rabanne? What is your favourite fragrance at the moment?

A Brand I Want To Try More Of: Essie

I'm always up for trying new brands, but there are of course still brands out there that I haven't invested into as much as others. In the case of Essie, the question is why the heck haven't I bought more of their products before? I don't really know the answer to that one to be perfectly honest with you. However after falling in love with their nail polishes after the addition of the shade Go Ginza, pictured left, to my very small collection (by very small collection I mean I currently only own one other of their nail polishes), I definitely want to branch out and try more of their shades. If you were curious, the other Essie polish I own, pictured right, is Master Plan.

Essie nail polishes are unlike any nail polish I've tried before. Applying them is beyond easy and mess free - the polishes glide on like an absolute dream. This is probably down to the width of the brush and the tapered bristles which allow you to get an even and precise application in just one slick. I'm always the girl that gets nail polish all over her hands and stuck in my cuticles, however with Essie this problem seems to disappear.

Another bonus is that you only need around two coats to get an opaque finish, well at least with the two shades I've tried anyway, however the shades I've tried are neutral tones, so who knows you may be able to get an opaque application in one coat with a more vibrant shade - I'll have to try it out and let you know! Even so, I think two coats to get an opaque finish is still pretty darn good if you ask me.

Finally, if you've been struggling with nail polishes from other brands that seem to chip within the space of a day, then Essie will solve all of your problems. For instance, I applied Go Ginza on the Monday of last week before travelling to see my boyfriend until the Sunday. I didn't take the nail polish with me so I couldn't touch it up, but that didn't matter because I really didn't need to. I don't know what is in the Essie polishes, but they seem to be pretty much chip proof. Of course after wearing one for over a week they will wear down, however my nails stayed pretty much perfect for my entire week away. Isn't that just every girls nail polish dream?!

So, there you have it. Essie nail polishes are definitely a winner in my eyes, and there is no doubt that I will be picking up some more shades from their line.

What do you think of Essie nail polishes? What brands do you want to try more of?
