A New Favourite Nude Lip Combo

C'mon, we all love a nude lip, right? I'm for sure obsessed. Recently, I feel like I have mastered the nude lip that I have been envisioning in my head for what seems like forever. Who knows, I might find a new favourite, but for now, this combo is definitely winning.

The two beauties that make up this nude lip combo are the NYX Slide On Lip Pencil in Nude Suede Shoes and the MAC Viva Glam Lipstick in Viva Glam II. Both of these products are beautiful nude shades with pink undertones. I've been searching for shades like both of these for a while now, and they both gave me that extreme satisfaction and relief when I first tried them. You know when you are so glad you bought a product and instantly fall in love with it? Definitely the best feeling ever for a makeup lover.

Honestly, I feel like these two products were made to be paired together, as they are so similar in not only the tone but also the texture. Nude Suede Shoes is very creamy, as I mentioned in my NYX Haul, and Viva Glam II is a satin finish, so it's not completely matte and thus feels very creamy on the lips and glides on beautifully as well. Viva Glam II is the very tiniest bit lighter than Nude Suede Shoes and adds a slight sheen to the lips due to the satin formula. This creates a little bit of dimension and makes my lips look slightly more full, which I adore.

Can we just talk about how long this nude lip combo lasts though? Like seriously, these two paired together do not budge. Even after a few hours, everything still looks freshly applied. My lips still look pretty good when wearing this combo after eating food too, which is really impressive. Of course a little bit is going to rub off, but when I check my lips after finishing eating, I don't feel an urgent need to touch up.

If you're a nude lip lover, I would seriously recommend that you go and try these two products out, as they both really are so stunning. The hype is real!

What nude lip products are you loving right now? Do you have a favourite nude lip combo?

The Gradual Tanners I'm Using To Top Up My Holiday Tan

Since coming back from my holiday away in the sun, the weather here in the UK hasn't exactly lived up to the weather Mallorca had to offer. This obviously means that my tan is going to fade a lot quicker than I would like it to. Who am I kidding, why do tans have to fade at all? I want to stay bronzed and glowy forever! That's where these two gradual tanners come in to make sure my holiday tan is nicely topped up.

The St Tropez In Shower Gradual Tanner in Medium is the one I have been using most often since getting back from Mallorca, as it really does build up the colour slowly and, in my experience, leaves no patches whatsoever. I also absolutely love the concept of applying it in the shower. You wash yourself as normal, then turn the shower off and apply to the skin when wet. It lathers ever so slightly so you can see exactly where you're applying it, which I think is amazing because it ensures you don't miss a spot. Once you've applied it, you wait for three minutes before turning the shower back on and rinsing it off. It can get a little chilly standing without the shower on for three minutes, haha, but it could be way worse and at the end of the day I know I'm going to be golden and glowy, so it's definitely worth it. The shade of this tan looks so natural and golden on my skin and develops within around half a day to a day, which is pretty good going. When it is developing, I do get the odd whiff of that classic fake tan smell, but once the tan has settled down it does fade away. Despite that, the best thing about this product is that there's no waiting around for the tan to dry before you get dressed, because all of the residue is washed off in the shower - result!

I have also been loving the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Natural Bronze Gradual Tanning Moisturiser (what a mouthful). This stuff really is gradual tanner at its finest, as I've never used a gradual tanner that develops so quickly. Within about two to three hours of applying it, I can clearly notice a difference in my skin tone and can see that I am already starting to look tanned. On the first day I ever used it, I was so amazed, as I had never experienced this sort of speed with a gradual tanner before. In terms of the pigmentation of the tan, this stuff really has got it. It gives me such a beautiful golden glow, however is a little more intense than the St Tropez tan. As it is a little more intense and is a lotion formula, it doesn't lather on the skin so when using it I do need to be very careful to ensure I haven't missed any spots, as there's nothing worse than looking patchy. In my experience this tan does cling a little more around the elbows, wrists, knees and ankles, but I will carry on practising with my application skills! A bonus to this gradual tanner is the smell. The cocoa butter formula creates an amazing aroma of chocolate on the skin upon application - it's divine.

That's how I keep myself looking bronzed and tanned throughout the rainy summer we're currently having, but what tanning products do you use? Have you tried either of these gradual tanners?

A NYX Haul

The only NYX products I had tried before this haul were the Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks, however I still felt like I had a NYX shaped hole in my life, so I went ahead and bought a few more products from their line. I have read so many blog posts about the Soft Matte Lip Creams over the past few months and years, so of course I had to try a few of those. While I was at it I added two of their eyeshadows to my basket, and then the following day I picked up one of their lip liners after seeing the most beautiful swatches of it online. Someone take my purse away from me so I stop spending, please!

The Soft Matte Lip Creams I have (from L to R) are Cairo, Athens and Rome. The lip creams are very lightweight and glide onto the lips so easily. They feel very smooth and creamy and almost somewhat moisturising upon application. When they set, they dry matte however feel very comfortable and don't feel too drying. My favourite out of them all is probably Rome, however I can see myself wearing Athens the most for everyday wear, as it's a lovely nude peachy pink shade. Rome is a beautiful cranberry shade, which is absolutely gorgeous for the evening but it could definitely be worn throughout the day too. Cairo is a shade I am still slightly unsure of. It seems to wash me out a lot and it's definitely not as pigmented as the two other shades. The only way I have managed to wear it is by applying a small amount of it in the middle of the lips after applying the NYX lipliner I bought (which I am about to tell you all about) and blending the two together to create a subtle ombre effect.

The Slide On Lip Pencil in Nude Suede Shoes has got to be one of my new favourite lip liners (yep, already). It really does slide on as the name suggests as the formula is just so creamy, which I love as I hate lip liners that you have to physically tug across your lips. The shade is pretty much my idea of the perfect pinky nude shade. The colour is so opaque and there's the perfect balance of pink and brown in it, making it a definite my lips but better shade. I wore this to death on holiday and have worn it non-stop since I've been home too. This lip liner is definitely a winner in my eyes!

And finally, I picked up two of the Hot Singles Eyeshadows in (from L to R) Sex Kitten and Flustered. I don't have shades too similar to these in my collection, and at only £3.50 each I had to try them out. Sex Kitten is a pearly peachy gold shade and Flustered is the most gorgeous pearly rust/cranberry shade. Flustered is showing a little more red in the photo, however in real life it is a little more cranberry in tone. For £3.50, the pigmentation of these eyeshadows are pretty darn good. I've been on the hunt for a rust/cranberry shade for ages now, so Flustered has to be my favourite out of the two. I've been wearing it a lot in the outer corners and through the crease and it looks beautiful, and I think it makes my pale green eyes stand out a little more too.

So, there you have it. All in all, I am very impressed with these products from NYX, and I'm still itching to try more products from them. Keep your eyes peeled for potential future NYX hauls!

Have you tried any NYX products? What are your favourite NYX products?

A Week In Mallorca

As you may or may not know, Aaron and I have recently just spent a week away on holiday together in Mallorca. It was our first proper holiday together, and my first holiday without my parents in fact. We had the most amazing week and it was just so nice to be completely on our own and spend some really special quality time together. I love reading and admiring photos in other bloggers' travel posts, so I thought I'd share some snaps from our holiday in case any of you fancied a look.

We stayed in a beautiful part of Mallorca called Cala Vinyes. It's a relatively small area of Mallorca and is right on the coast, about a five-ten minute cab drive away from Magaluf, which was nice as we weren't up for staying right near the Magaluf strip! Where we were located was peaceful and so beautiful, as our hotel looked over a lovely little cove, so the clear blue sea was always in sight and only a 30 second walk away from the hotel. Our hotel was absolutely stunning and there was always something going on in the day to keep us entertained. Aaron joined in on some of the games that the reps ran such as table tennis and water volleyball, however I simply relaxed and watched from my sun bed, haha. The weather when we were out there was gorgeous and so warm, so we spent a lot of time dipping in and out of the pool to cool off. The warm weather also meant that I did end up a bit sun burnt (yes, I did apply sun cream) as my skin is so fair, the warm sun just burns me so easily!

We paid for all inclusive, so we ate in the hotel every morning and afternoon and most evenings. On two of the evenings we treated ourselves to a lovely meal out, both of which were the two best restaurants (rated by TripAdvisor) in Palma Nova. Palma Nova is definitely somewhere we'd love to stay if we ever went back to Mallorca as it was just so lovely and we had the most amazing food there. We went out most evenings in Magaluf and Palma Nova instead of hanging about in the hotel. As well as eating out, we played crazy golf and on two occasions went to the most amazing beach bar in Magaluf called Bondi Beach (who make the best frozen strawberry daiquiri I have ever tasted). The staff in there were all really friendly as well and it was just a really nice atmosphere, so if you're in Magaluf and fancy drinking some tasty cocktails, or even eating some food, I'd definitely recommend Bondi Beach. We also spent an afternoon at Western Water Park in Magaluf which was so much fun. I'm not the most adventurous adrenaline-seeking person, so of course I did opt out on going on some of the larger slides, however the ones I did go on with Aaron were so much fun.

We flew home on our one year anniversary of being together, at 7:55am in the morning may I add! We were both so tired, however we chilled all day once we got home and watched the first couple of episodes of the new season of Orange Is The New Black (our fave) before going out for a gorgeous meal in the evening to celebrate, which was absolutely lovely. The rain here in the UK is giving me serious post-holiday blues, someone take me back! It was such an amazing, special week and I just want to do it all over again.

Are you going on holiday this summer with your family or your loved one? Have you been to Mallorca before, and if so, what places would you recommend visiting?

The Monthly Catch Up: May

It's been a little while since I've blogged, hasn't it? As I said in my last post, if I wasn't posting then it meant I was probably revising, and of course that is why I haven't been around these parts for a while! I finished all of my uni assignments and had one exam to go until first year was officially over, so I wanted to put all my time and effort into making sure I could do as well as possible in the exam. Hopefully I've done enough, but on a brighter note let me tell you how good it feels to be completely free. No assignment work, no exams, no revision. Ahhhh bliss. I thought I'd get back into writing posts with a little monthly catch up.

At the start of May, Aaron came home from uni to visit for the weekend, which was actually his last weekend visit before he came home for summer. It felt so so strange knowing that we had done a whole (academic) year of long distance, to us it feels like the year has flown by! We went on a cute little date night, which we try to do every once and a while, as it's just so nice to be able to spend some quality time together. We went to the cinema to see Bad Neighbours 2, which was pretty good, and then went to Prezzo for dinner, which was absolutely delicious.

By the middle of May I had completed both of my last two uni assignments, which were both pretty nerve wracking, as they were both presentations! Presentations are always a bit scary due to the fear of messing up your lines or forgetting what to say altogether, but luckily they both seemed to go okay.

I also got my hair cut this month, which was definitely well needed. I hadn't had it cut since December, so I was going on for nearly half a year without getting a chop! When I rang for an appointment, I was told that my regular stylist had recently quit hairdressing, which immediately caused me to panic because I always get attached to hairdressers and the way they do my hair. Luckily, I was offered a new stylist at the same salon and she cut my hair just as good as my old stylist and I love the way my hair looks now. I had a good bit taken off the length and my layers put back in, and it just in general feels so much more bouncy and healthy now.

A few days after my haircut, Aaron came home from uni, and not just for a weekend this time, but for summer! It feels so good to know that he's going to be only two minutes around the corner for a whole four months (nearly). To celebrate, my best friend Amy and I, Aaron and her boyfriend all went out on a double date. We went to a cocktail bar on the beach and then spontaneously went clubbing too, which was good fun. Amy and I had these huge frozen strawberry daiquiris. The lady at the bar seemed to take a liking to Aaron, so when she prepared my drink (which he ordered), she made it so much bigger than usual and moulded it into a big fancy shape. Perks of having a gorgeous boyfriend, eh? Hahaha, I'll stop with the soppiness now. You can see in the photo that my drink is overflowing, and the fancy shape that the lady at the bar made quickly melted into a slushy mess in time for the photo. Pretty funny.

The rest of the month was spent revising hard, as you can see from the endless pages of revision notes, and then taking afternoon breaks so I didn't get too stressed out, which were often spent down the beach with Aaron. We went and played crazy golf down the beach one afternoon last week and it was so lovely and hilarious fun. It's always fun to have a bit of flirty competition, and it's a good laugh too, especially as I'm so crap at it. I lost, which you probably could have guessed from my previous sentence, haha.

That's about it for May. I'm so excited for the rest of June as the summer holidays have finally arrived (for me anyway). Aaron and I are going on holiday a week today which should be amazing, so I am sure you will hear all about that here on my blog once we get back!

What did you get up to in May?
