The Easter holidays are finally here – so I’ve finished uni for three weeks, yay! One of the hardest parts about being at uni is being apart from your best friends that you made through school. It’s the first time in your life where you don’t get to see them everyday, which is so sad. That’s why the holidays are great, as everyone reunites again and you get to have a good girly gossip and catch up. My two best friends and I were reunited again yesterday, which was honestly the best feeling ever; I was beyond excited to see them. To celebrate everyone being back at home, we went on a day out, and it was the best day I’ve had in a long while.
We went for lunch in a lovely beachfront restaurant in our hometown, which I had actually never been to before. The food is slightly pricey, but let me tell you was it delicious. I had half a pizza, fries and a side salad. I actually managed to eat pretty much all of it, but to be honest I wanted to make the most of it because it was so damn yummy. Also, random, the salad dressing. Omg. Literally the best dressing I have ever tasted. It was sweet but zesty and just so yummy! My two best friends had burgers, one southern fried chicken and one beef, and they looked bloody lovely. I will definitely be eating there again so I can try more of the food!
In our hometown there is also an aquarium, which we decided to go to for something a bit different. None of us had visited it since we were little kids, so it was fun to go back there and see what had changed. There were so many pretty fish that made great photo opportunities, however the best part of the visit had to be watching feeding time for the penguins. Penguins are one of my favourite animals, so I am always fascinated by them, and aren’t they just so cute?
Since it was such a beautiful day, we decided to venture out into the countryside. This was a pretty spontaneous decision, so a lot of laughter was had as we tried to jump over the mud in not the most practical shoes. Wellies were definitely needed! More importantly, the views were just beautiful. We sat in the sun by a lake and it was so peaceful. It definitely made us appreciate the beauty of nature a lot more! We also were lucky enough to come across some beautiful horses where we parked the car. I have to say I’m pretty proud of the photo I took of one of them. Isn’t it pretty?
All in all, it was such an amazing day and I wouldn’t have wanted to spend it with anyone else. Catching up with friends is always lovely.
Are you apart from your friends due to going to different uni’s? How have you been spending this gorgeous weather we seem to be having in the UK at the moment?
