Welcome to November’s edition of Han’s Plans! You might have noticed that I missed out October, but sometimes it’s good to wait a few months to fully reflect on things that you want to achieve. A little update: I’m now back at uni and to be quite honest with you, I’m really feeling the pressure. Final year is not here to mess about, people! So this month I think I’ll definitely be focusing on trying to stay calm and generally on top of things. So, here’s a few things I’m planning to achieve this month:
Be wiser with food choices again and keep up that gym routine
Sometimes when you’ve fallen off the eating well/exercising regularly bandwagon, it can be SO hard to jump back on it. I’m pleased to say that I’ve FINALLY persuaded my boyfriend Aaron to join the gym with me. I can’t say how much having a gym buddy makes me feel more comfortable in the gym and more motivated to actually go. Now that we’re exercising more regularly, I think it’s important that I make more of an effort to eat a bit more healthily too, especially before Christmas comes along! I even started today with choosing an orange over a cereal bar. Small steps to success, I hope. I think this will make me feel better mentally too.
Keep up with my skincare routine
Sometimes when I’m feeling really stressed and down, I tend to neglect the simple but important things in life, such as my skincare routine, because I have that ‘I need to do my work, I’ve got no time attitude’. I’ve been loving using my Dermalogica skincare products (as part of their Skinfluencer program) but I’ve been neglecting it a bit recently, so I’d really like to make more of an effort. It really doesn’t take long, and I always thank myself for it afterwards because my skin feels great.
Read/fill in some books
I say ‘fill in’ as the book in the photos, 52 Lists For Happiness by Moorea Seal, is actually a book you fill out yourself. Each page has a topic for you to write a list about, for example things you feel passionate about, the ways you think someone you love would describe you, the things you want out of life five years from now, etc. It’s such a great book and really makes you appreciate the great and happy things that you have going on in your life. I bought it a little while ago and I think it will be really great for times when I’m feeling stressed.
I also want to carry on reading the amazing new book The New Fashion Rules by In The Frow, aka Victoria Magrath. She is honestly so inspiring and from what I’ve read of the book so far, it sounds like it’s going to be such an interesting and insightful read. I think it’s also going to help hugely with my dissertation, since I’m researching into fashion influencers and consumer behaviour.
Start planning my Christmas shopping list
I can’t believe I’ve mentioned the word Christmas… AHHH! I think it’s always good to get started as early as possible, even if it’s only planning who you need to buy for and what you might like to buy that person. It’s also a good idea to ask people what they might want, my Mum usually writes me a little list which is always handy to have. In my opinion there’s nothing worse than last minute shopping, it just stresses me out way too much!
