Say hello to Han’s Plans, my new little blog series!
Well this is exciting, isn’t it? This series will feature my plans and overall goals for the month ahead. I think it’s nice to be able to keep track of things, especially during my final year of university! It may turn out to be monthly or bi-monthly, depending what I’ve got going on during a particular month. So stay tuned! Anyway, onto Han’s Plans for September (and yes I am aware this is a little late, oops)…
I’ve finally made the move from Blogger to WordPress
YAY! I’ve been meaning to do this for so long but every time I go to do it, I get scared about paying the money or something going wrong, etc etc. But then in the back of my mind I’m just like, but I actually really want to do this? So last week I managed to convince myself and I haven’t looked back since. I really should have done it sooner.
In general, Blogger just wasn’t really doing it for me anymore. There were a lot of limitations design wise and stats wise, and I guess I just wanted more from my whole blogging experience. Plus, some of my blogger friends like Lucy and Lauren had already made the switch, which persuaded me even more!
Start final year as I mean to go on
Well, perhaps with the exception of a freshers parties and nights out – lol. This year I feel so determined to do well and almost try to enjoy my studies as much as I can. I’m absolutely bricking it at the thought of my dissertation, but I am excited at the prospect of completing my own unique research project and learning more about the industry I am interested in. I’m an organised person anyway, however I want to try and start assignments as early as possible and really take use of all the help available to me.
Ease myself back into the gym
Cliché, I know. But, I’ve had a bit of a love/hate relationship with the gym over the past year. Adapting to full time work during my placement year took a toll on my gym routine. I’d go through phases of going to a few classes a week, to going to none at all.
I spoke to one of my friends who has just finished his final year and he said going to the gym really helped take his mind off things and allowed him to escape from his coursework. I’ve definitely noticed the effects of not working out regularly, so I think just trying to ease myself in by going when I can is a good start. Classes are always a good shout too as I get to do it with others and can let the instructor build my workout for me!
Say yes more
Recently, I watched a video on Facebook which featured a young woman’s letter she wrote before she really sadly passed away from cancer. Honestly, this video has stuck with me ever since and every now and again I think to myself, do what she would have done. The video truly touched me and literally had me in floods of tears. It made me realise that life truly is so precious and you just have to say yes to opportunities that come your way, even if they might scare you.
This especially applies to my final year of uni. I really want to make the most of my final year of education and student life, and I hope that if I live by this mantra throughout the first month then we’ll be off to a good start.
Try and set some time aside each week for blogging
This is something I am scared of: not having enough time to blog during my final year. My blog is something I enjoy so much and it allows me to let my creative juices flow. I’m more into it now than I’ve probably ever been and I hope that you will all stay with me as I go on my final year of uni journey.
Posting might decrease during busy times, as I’m fully prepared to accept that the year ahead is going to be one of the hardest ever, however I think it will be good for me to use my blog to take time out and stay in the loop. No pressure, just whenever I have time and whenever I feel like it.
Attend Aaron’s graduation
Other than going back to uni, the main exciting thing happening this month is Aaron’s graduation. I can’t believe that after three long years of long distance, that he’s finally graduating and has now got himself his first job. I’ve already chosen my outfit which is a huge relief, as being 5ft doesn’t make buying occasion wear very easy! I’m thinking of doing a post once he’s graduated about what to wear as a graduation guest. Hopefully I’ll be able to share photos with you of what I wore!
