As you’re probably aware I love wearing a nude lip, as well as having a slight (okay, maybe a huge) addiction to buying lip products. So when I saw this Maybelline Color Drama Lip Pencil in Nude Perfection, I had to snap it up.
The shade I chose is such a gorgeous nude that would suit pretty much anyone. It’s a light brown nude with a very slight pink undertone, which is the type of nude I usually go for, whether I’m going out in the day time or partying in the evening. The product applies really well to the lips as it has such a beautiful creamy texture, so it doesn’t feel too drying on the lips. Maybelline claims it to be an ‘intense velvet lip pencil’, which I suppose is true as it’s not as creamy as perhaps your typical MAC cream sheen lipstick is; it is insanely pigmented and does feel a more velvety texture.
I actually wore this product on my lips a few days ago on a night out and it lasted really well on my lips without re-application throughout the evening. Obviously if you want your lips to stay pristine throughout the evening then feel free to re-apply, but after a few drinks on a night out I still thought it looked pretty darn good, haha!
I’ve read that a lot of people have struggled to find a sharpener big enough to sharpen this pencil, which I do guess is its only flaw, as it doesn’t wind up like some other lip pencils do. Luckily, I have a sharpener from Seventeen at Boots which seems to fit it perfectly! So if you are struggling to find a sharpener to fit this product, I would highly recommend looking at what Seventeen has to offer at Boots. I have had this particular sharpener for a while, but I do believe that they have a similar one available.
Overall, I absolutely love this product. It lasts well on the lips, applies like a dream, and to top it all off, the colour is just beautiful – the perfect nude!
Have you tried any of the Maybelline Color Drama Lip Pencils?
