Guess what? After a pretty hard final school year, today I finally finished my A Levels! I am free! One thing in particular that I had on my mind during exam season is how much I have missed blogging, so I thought I would kick off my summer of freedom with a new post for you all. Today I thought I would tell you about my current favourite lip combinations. Recently I have been particularly obsessed with experimenting with different lip products and I seem to have found a new love of a darker toned nude lip, which is particularly on trend at the moment and never fails to look flattering and chic.
My first current favourite lip combination, pictured bottom left, is No7 Precision Lips Pencil in Nude and MAC Lipstick in Midimauve. This combination is slightly more of a pink/mauve toned nude, and this especially comes from the Midimauve lipstick as it has a gorgeous mauve sheen to it which I absolutely love. The lipliner itself is actually of a really creamy formula, and the lipstick is also immensely creamy and moisturising, which feels amazingly hydrating on the lips. I love wearing this lip combination with any makeup look as it is so versatile, however I do like to wear it with a cool-toned eyeshadow look, which ties in well with the cool-toned mauve colour of the lipstick.
My second current favourite lip combination, pictured bottom right, is MAC Lipliner in Stripdown and Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Rosewood Pearl. I recently bought this lipliner as I wanted to try out a more beige/brown toned nude, and I absolutely love it as the colour pay off is amazing and it lasts for hours without budging. The lipliner alone is a gorgeous colour, however to add some more dimension to the lips I have been loving putting the Maybelline lipstick over the top as it has a pearl formula, so it has a slight shimmer to it. I feel this type of lipstick looks great over a lipliner to help add some shine and volume to the lips, which this lipstick does perfectly. I love wearing this lip colour with flawless foundation coverage and a good coat of mascara as it just looks so effortless yet so elegant at the same time.
What are your current favourite lip combinations? What do you think of the nude lip trend? Feel free to let me know in the comments, and thanks for reading!
