A lot of you seemed to like my last NOTD post, so I thought I’d share another one with you all. If you aren’t already aware, mint green is one of my all time favourite colours. It’s in my bedroom, on my clothes & pyjamas and even both of my prom dresses were mint green – so of course it’s going to be on my nails too.
Since my post about wanting to try more Essie nail polishes, I have bought two more shades to add to my collection, one of them being the shade I am wearing in this look, which is Mint Candy Apple – don’t you just love the name? It’s one of Essie’s most popular shades and I have wanted to try it for quite some time, so to finally own it is such a great feeling. It applies like a dream, just like all of Essie’s polishes, and it’s one of the prettiest shades of mint green I’ve ever seen. Definitely the perfect shade for spring in my opinion.
To go over the top of Mint Candy Apple, I dug out an old favourite glitter polish of mine, which is Topshop’s Ice Crush. It contains fine and slightly chunky pieces of silver glitter, which glimmers and sparkles when caught under the light. Despite containing chunky pieces of glitter, this polish doesn’t feel rough on the nails. It feels smooth to touch and actually provides a good top coat for Mint Candy Apple too, making it even more chip resistant than it already is.
Since creating this look with these two polishes, I can’t stop admiring my nails. They look seriously spring-ready and oh so sparkly! I’ll definitely be coming back to this look time and time again for days when I feel like a nice pop of colour on my nails – and lets face it I’m never going to get tired of mint green, it’s my fave.
What’s on your nails today? Have you tried either of these nail polishes?
