The Monthly Catch Up: March

I don’t really tend to do life updates that often on my blog, so I thought it might be a fun idea to start a little series where I can fill you in on a few things concerning my day to day life (whether you’re interested or not I’m not sure but hopefully this might be a nice change every now and again to an ordinary beauty or fashion post).

The beginning of the month was filled with oh so fun university assignments. I’ve only got around five assignments left now, including exams, until the end of term. The first year of university is nearly over – I can’t believe how quick it’s gone! I’m thinking of doing a post on my experience of the first year of university, being a stay at home student. If anyone is interested in that then please let me know below!

Aaron came home to visit for a weekend in mid-March. Since we only get to see each other every few weeks, we try to make the most of our time together. We went to the cinema to see Sacha Baron Cohen’s new film Grimsby, which was bloody hilarious – quite crude, but hilarious. After that we went for a bite to eat at Turtle Bay, a Caribbean themed restaurant. We both went for the double dipped jerk steak, which was tasty but SO fiery, and sweet potato fries. The decor in the restaurant was lovely. We were seated underneath a beautiful large canopy with fairy lights surrounding it; it seriously felt like we were sat outside somewhere in the Caribbean.

Throughout March I’ve also really been into two series’ – Orange Is The New Black and My Mad Fat Diary. Aaron and I have been watching OITNB together and we are seriously hooked. If any of you have Netflix subscriptions and are thinking about watching it, go for it. My Mad Fat Diary is what I’ve been watching when Aaron isn’t around to watch OITNB with me. It’s a similar sort of vibe to the film Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging, so if you like that then you will LOVE this. It’s full of teen drama, tears and romance and I bloody well love it.

On a less positive note, this month I’ve been suffering quite badly (warning: slight TMI coming up) with issues concerning my, well you know, down below. I’ve been getting really bad cystitis symptoms, and if you’re a girl reading this who has had it before then you will totally understand my pain. It’s the most uncomfortable feeling and I just want it to go away. The doctor isn’t quite sure if it’s definitely cystitis or not, but I’m currently waiting on some test results, so hopefully things will get sorted soon and I will find out what the hell is going on. It’s driving me nuts! Also, who has tried the cystitis relief sachets? Most. Disgusting. Things. EVER.

Now I’m on Easter break, Aaron and my best friends from school are all home from university, so it’s been great getting to catch up with everyone again. I’ve eaten a lot of chocolate over the Easter weekend and I definitely feel as if I’m about to pop!

What have you been up to throughout March?
